Maybelline Color Tattoo Collection

These drugstore beauties have been compare to the Chanel Illusion D'Ombre & MAC Paint Pots; they are simply cream shadows that pack a big punch. I currently own 6 from the permanent collection, and they are the best products this year from the drug store. They are super easy to use; can be used by itself for quick swatch of colour or as a base to give powder shadow a pop. $6.99CAD at Walmart

Fast Forward for swatches & review -->

The products comes in jar containers with 4grams of products which you are unlikely to finish before it dries out. I got 6 neutral shades here that can all be wore on the eyelid by itself.

PROS:
  • long lasting
  • grade range of shades (there is a Barely Branded that is similar to MAC Bare Study)
  • budget friendly & easily accessible
  • easy to use (I prefer to use my finger to warm up the product and swatch it over my eyelid & use a synthetic brush to blend out the edges before applying powder shadow)
  • creamy texture that applies evenly

CONS:
  • dries out easily just like the MAC Paint Pots
  • some shades are better than others
  • can be slightly drying if you have dry eyelids & if you don't warm it up with your finger tips.

Oops! I forgot I had Too Cool as well (white shade with a small sheen)
As you can tell, Inked in Pink is well loved. You can see it is starting to dry out on the edges but the product is still usable just got to warm it up with your finger tips.

OVERALL
My favourite shades are Bad to the Bronze, Inked in Pink & Tough as Taupe; they provide the best pigmentation and these are the shades are gravitate towards because they are neutral for everyday where. I got Too Cool to be worn as a white base for bright coloured eyeshadows & as a inner highlight, but this is the shade I used the least. Overall, I love these shadows and would continue to pickup new shades and I hope that they continue to make more neutral shades that can be swatch over the all for everyday looks. At $6.99 a pop, it is totally worth the investment and unless you have a specific colour you like from MAC, I personally prefer the Maybelline version just for the price.
